Get to know the owners... Dianne and Dawn

Dianne Iannello

Dianne is a volunteer at Rochester Animal Services and is a play yard leader and also on the enrichment team. She is the Co-Director of Pets Stop Here Inc. , our affiliated local rescue. Dianne dedicates her time to training the dogs in her care and placing them in their forever homes. She has attended the training with Aimee Sadler Playing for Life and the Animal Farm Foundation.

Dianne is also dedicated to her ongoing education in working with dogs and has attended seminars on topics such as dynamics of dog play, fearful dogs, and animal behavior. She is certified in pet first aid and has been trained in feeding raw diets to dogs and the health benefits of such a diet. She continues to train others who wish to follow this holistic feeding plan.

Dianne has seven pups of her own and is mom to local celebrity, Alfredo the Weather Dog!

Dawn Saunders

Dawn worked for 35+ years in Kodak Silver Division and was ready to embark on a new career working with animals. She graduated from Animal Behavior College as a Certified Dog Trainer in April 2016. She has been a Rochester Animal Shelter volunteer for 8 years overseeing the dog enrichment team and is also a play yard leader. Dawn is also Co-Director of Pets Stop Here Rescue.

She attended the Animal Farm Foundation internship (May 2014) and is certified in pet first aid and CPR. Dawn has also attended group training with Aimee Sadler who established Dogs Playing for Life – setting up the operations for play yard groups for shelters across the country. She has continued her education at Alfred State and Lollypop Farm in Working and Training Fearful Dogs. She also expands her knowledge by doing seminars and webinars through Maddie’s Fund.

Dawn is also a dedicated foster and has three rescue pups of her own, Starr, Roo and Rookie!
